Introducing . . . The Voyage to Thanksgiving

Happy fall, y'all!  It's not only my favorite season.  It's not only the season that compliments my red hair and golden undertones.  It's not only the season that inspired an entire show that is part of my personality (Gilmore Girls, of course).  It is the season of Thanksgiving, and in honor of that holiday, I have created a new resource just for you!

The Voyage to Thanksgiving is a 4-week family-style curriculum that walks families through early American history, from the pilgrims meeting in secret in England, their journey to Holland and back to England, their trip across the Atlantic, all the way up to the first Thanksgiving!

I created this resource after being inspired by the book Pilgrim Stories that my daughter and I read a couple years ago.  We devoured the book and I realized I learned more American history teaching it to her in second grade than I ever learned and retained during my 18 years of formal education from kindergarten through college!  I wanted to create a resource that taught children the full picture of Thanksgiving and how our country was created through a group of people's search for religious freedom.

This curriculum encompasses many subjects because history is SO much bigger than just learning dates and facts.  In order to get a full picture of the pilgrims' journey, and how the Thanksgiving holiday came to be, this resource includes:

    • Four 30-Page Student Workbooks for all stages of writing (simple words in a large traceable font for preschool/kindergarten, sentences in a slightly smaller traceable font for early elementary, blank lines with print copywork and blank lines with cursive copywork for older students).
